Just as a student’s safety cannot be guaranteed at home, safety cannot be guaranteed while studying abroad. However, we are committed to taking all appropriate actions to mitigate risk.
We use all resources at our disposal to guide our decision-making in our efforts to keep our participants safe. Our participants are our number one priority. To ensure our participants are completely protected throughout the program, we include a comprehensive, $0 deductible, all-inclusive traveler health insurance policy. We also provide comprehensive risk management procedures and training before the program starts.
All SAA Italy programs are built on the foundation of education. We offer unique programs in various areas of study, including programs in underserved academic fields, such as: STEM, Business, Allied Health, and Culinary Arts.
Every SAA Italy program is crafted to achieve the goals of the faculty and institutions with which we’re working. Our extensive global academic network includes university partnerships, local faculty and subject-area experts, business owners, entrepreneurs, medical professionals, artists, NGOs, anthropologists, scientists, engineers, musicians, chefs, historians, community leaders, sustainability experts, and more!
Our goal is to provide global experiences to as many students as possible. Faculty-led programs and virtual global learning materials allow students, especially those who cannot study abroad for a long period, greater access. We know program price is an important factor in accessibility, so we work to provide the most value in our programs without sacrificing quality. We do this by immersing students in the local culture, including using local transportation, shopping local markets, recommending free museums and activities, and more. Our global network also allows us to find the best prices for group flights and accommodations.

Study Abroad Association Italy supports local communities everywhere we go. We promote sustainability with all our programs, empowering local communities and projects in need, as well as establishing long-lasting relationships with everyone with which we collaborate.
By partnering with local communities, artisans, and educators, we enable all SAA Italy program participants to have unique experiences while supporting local economies. Whether it’s a visit to a local organic farm, an ethical coffee producer, or a Peruvian textile weaving family, we strive to understand how locals live. By doing so, we can learn valuable lessons while supporting and sustaining their traditions.
